The DBS has published a collection of guides, available here, to help identify the type of workforce that an applicant for a DBS check will be working in (i.e. ‘adult workforce’, ‘child workforce’ or ‘other workforce’) dependent on activity. It is worth noting that employers are required to add the workforce on the DBS application form otherwise they will be rejected.
