Disappointingly, the Government appears to have abandoned its commitment to keeping employment law changes to two regular annual dates, namely 1 April and 1 October. This practice has, over the last few years, proved very helpful for those of us struggling to keep up with new statutes and regulations. Without warning or explanation, this well-established policy now seems to have been discarded, as you can see from the dates mentioned in our other news articles this month. We must now suffer changes coming into force on odd dates, such as 29 July (Tribunal fees) and the 31st of some months.
