Government reforms (1): Data protection – GDPR guidance

What do we already know?

We have been regularly updating you about the new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which on 25 May 2018 will replace the current EU Data Protection Directive and the Data Protection Act 1998.

For further detail see our updates here.

What’s new?

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has set up a telephone advice line (see here and here) for small businesses on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The new telephone advice line will assist small businesses in complying with the new provisions in the GDPR, along with other general ICO-related inquiries, including existing data protection laws, freedom of information requests and electronic marketing queries.
