Government reforms (1): Guides – (1) illegal working and (2) data protection

What do we already know?

• In our August 2014 Newsflash Guides – (1) Illegal working and (2) Employing the Disabled we let you know that the Government had updated the employer’s guide on the right to work checks; and

• In our August 2014 Newsletter Data protection: Help with subject access requests we let you know that the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) had published a subject access code of practice to help guide data controllers when dealing with subject access requests.

What’s new?

The Government and ICO have updated the above guides. The Government employer’s guide on the right to work checks is available here. The ICO has combined the subject access code of practice with its employer’s guide to data protection, which is available here.
