We updated you in our June 2016 Newsletter Government reforms (3): Tribunal claims – still low that for the period October to December 2015 and January to March 2016 Tribunal claims have continued to reduce since the introduction of Tribunal fees.

What’s new?

The Ministry of Justice has published the Tribunal quarterly statistics bulletin for the period April to June 2016. Claims are still falling but the decline is seemingly slowing according to these latest statistics. During this quarter:

  • Employment Tribunals received 4,200 single claims (down 3% on the same period in 2015) and 11,600 multiple claims (an increase of 38% in the same period in 2015).
  • Employment Tribunals disposed of 3,700 single claims. There was no change on the same period in 2015. A total of 9,200 multiple claims were disposed of (down 29% on the same period in 2015).
