Employment Law Focus – Pay Equality: a brave new world. Claims, risks, strategies and solutions
Annual programme of events
We run a range of highly topical Learning and Development events throughout the year which both clients and non-client organisations and individuals are very welcome to attend. Our programme is designed around the following four strands, to ensure that whichever area you’re interested in, and no matter which level you’re working at, we have an offer for you.
Employment Law Updates
From 2017 we will be offering two different styles of Employment Law Update.
Both deliver a pain-free (well, we try!) summary of all the latest legal developments, a look at what’s coming over the horizon and our expert view on everything current in the world of employment law. Our short and snappy Spring session is delivered in the evening to work around busy schedules. It provides the opportunity to get the news in brief and relax with a glass of something in the company of colleagues old and new. Our in-depth Autumn event is our flagship conference which gives you a more detailed insight and more opportunity to ask questions and do some beneficial networking over a lovely lunch.
Both events come with free entry into our exciting prize draw. We look forward to seeing you there!
Perfect for: HR Directors/Senior Managers; HR team members; independent HR professionals; anyone with an interest in hearing more about development in employment law.
Employment Law Focus
Our Focus events offer you ‘everything you need to know’ about a pertinent employment law topic. We might cover a major new piece of legislation, or take an up-to-date look at a classic trouble spot. We include case studies and exercises to maximise effective learning and in addition, delegates receive a useful handout pack for future reference.
Seminars may be a half-day or full-day depending on the material to be covered.
Our Focus events are information-packed but are always guaranteed to come with a delightful selection of refreshments and the opportunity to pick the brains of the best in the business.
Perfect for: those working within an organisation which is facing a particular issue; or any HR professional who needs to expand or update their knowledge base.
Employment Law Plus
Because there’s more to life than employment law…!
In these full-day events we bring together a range of expert speakers to take a broader look at a particularly complicated issue.
Our first ‘Plus’ event addressed the tricky and sensitive issue of Mental Health in the Workplace with the help of an occupational health consultant and professional mental health employment advocates.
The most recent event, in November 2016, looked at the intricate and emotive subjects of Immigration and Modern Slavery with guest speakers from Gya Williams Immigration and leading UK Charity, Unseen.
Due to their success, we plan to run the next Plus event soon and look forward to confirming details in due course.
Perfect for: Senior, strategic, HR Professionals; those with an interest or specialism in the topic.
Employment Law Intro
We all have to start somewhere!
This straight-forward, punchy one-day course does exactly what it says on the tin. Developed from our years of expertise in running in-house training, this course provides a thorough introduction to the basic principles of employment law including what makes a fair dismissal, grievance and disciplinary processes, discrimination, disability and absence management.
Quizzes, case studies and exercises enliven the day.
Perfect for: Junior HR staff (or those who would benefit from a refresh); SME Directors and Managers; front line management/supervisory staff who wish to upgrade their employee management capabilities.
Due to the topical nature of our offer we aim to launch our events no more than 3-6 months in advance and so there may not be ‘live’ events open for all four strands at once. If you have a query about future events or would like to suggest a topic of interest then please contact us.
All of our learning and development events are deliverable on an in-house basis. If you would like us to bring our training to you please see our In-Company page.
If you would like to be added to our events mailing list, please sign up here.
