Meet the team: Gemma Spencer

Having been at Menzies Law for 18 months now, my role has significantly developed since the early days.  As well as helping to keep the office run smoothly on a day-to-day basis, which ranges from answering the phone, dealing with the post, opening new cases and files, dealing with expenses and invoices and helping the rest of the team with admin, my role now also involves updating our website and finalising and posting our Newsflashes and Newsletters, as well as assisting with the organisation of seminars and bespoke Learning & Development events.

With the summer holidays almost over, we’re now looking towards our Autumn learning and development programme.  I deal with the large amount of ‘behind the scenes’ work which goes into the organisation of our L&D events, all of which ensures a smooth and stress-free day for the trainer and an enjoyable learning environment for all the delegates.

In my spare time I’m a keen outdoorsy type, having grown up on a farm, and I look after and ride my horse, Tutti, and her tubby companion, Rosie (although, mucking out in the depths of winter and having your face slapped with a muddy wet tail isn’t so much of a ‘spare time’ hobby, more a life-long commitment!).

I also love baking and trying my hand at sugarcraft – and yes, the figures on the cake are from my wedding last summer, and it is a true likeness!
