  1. Calculating the minimum wage – updated Government guidance
    As we updated you in our March 2016 Newsletter Government reforms (1): Spring changes – are you ready?, from 1 April 2016, the National Living Wage applies to workers aged 25 and over.The Government, BIS, has now updated their guidance, available here, on helping employers comply with national minimum wage legislation, adding in the new rates and additional information on national living wage.

 

  1. Sex discrimination in the workplace – new ACAS guide
    ACAS have launched a new guide, available here, to help employers and managers understand the laws around equality and prevent sex discrimination in the workplace. The guide includes best practice and advice on how to deal with the common workplace areas where sex discrimination can occur, such as recruitment, dismissals and redundancies.
