Help is at hand this week from ACAS which has published a detailed guidance note, available here on the new shared parental leave rules, together with supporting material including standard letters and a policy document. Amongst other things the guidance includes a step-by-step look at how eligible employees can make a request for shared parental leave and advice for employers on how to deal with requests fairly.
However, what it doesn’t cover is how shared parental leave may impact upon any enhanced maternity pay policy you may have.
