Our Barrister Joanne Sefton, who joined us in 2012 from Littleton Chambers, enhances the quality of our firm’s legal and tactical advice to a superb new level.
Joanne graduated with a first class degree in law from Cambridge University and went on to develop an impressive career at the Bar at Littleton Chambers, one of the leading employment law barristers’ chambers, becoming a highly regarded and popular employment law specialist, regularly instructed by many of the leading UK law firms.
Joanne – who has been interviewed on Sky News as an employment law expert – has a wealth of experience at a senior level across the whole range of contentious employment law, including a considerable amount of work in the EAT. In addition, she has particular experience in difficult discrimination claims and the commercial crossover aspects of employment law, such as High Court injunctions on restrictive covenants and director disputes and exits.
She particularly enjoys getting to grips with complex, lengthy Employment Tribunal hearings.
Building on her success as a self-employed barrister, Joanne is now deploying a wider set of advisory skills as she works with our solicitors and HR consultants to provide our team’s highly regarded ‘blended’ style of HR/legal advice.
Joanne also leads our Learning & Development team, crafting a fantastic annual schedule of L&D events open to all-comers, and presenting many of them herself.
Since being with Menzies Law, Joanne has won many fans amongst our clients for her confident handling of tricky situations, her excellent attention to detail and her reassuringly down-to-earth approach.
