The Department for Business and Trade has launched a review of the 25 year old legal regime that supports workers who blow the whistle on wrongdoing in the workplace.

At the end of March, the Department for Business and Trade launched a review of the UK whistleblowing framework.  Feedback is sought from whistleblowers but also from employers, charities and regulators.  The review will consider the following:

• • Scope – including appropriate definition of workers
  • Best practice guidance for employers
  • Greater access to justice for whistleblowers

It is hoped that the evidence-gathering will conclude in the Autumn. We will keep you posted on how things develop.
