snailIt’s September and hopefully the continued summer weather has compensated for the return of the school-run for some, and slower commutes for all! It’s back to the old routine for the Government too and more reforms are on their way – from 1 October fathers/partners will have the right to accompany their partners to antenatal appointments and adoption leave will be available to employees from day one of employment. We also update you on how ACAS early conciliation is going and the latest on Tribunal fees and UNISON’s challenge to these. The Courts have also been busy and we cover cases on (1) constructive dismissal and how an employee’s prior breach of contract impacts on their rights (2) when employers can resist incremental pay increases and (3) change of location following a TUPE transfer.  But first, let’s meet Joanne Sefton…
