The usual annual increase in statutory payments have been announced (a rise of 6.7% in line with the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) for the year to September 2023).

Statutory Sick Pay

From 6 April 2024, the rate of statutory sick pay will increase (from £109.40) to £116.75 per week.

Statutory maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental, parental bereavement pay and maternity allowance

From 8 April 2024, the weekly rate of the above payments will increase (from £172.48) to £184.03 per week.

Lower earnings limit

The amount of the weekly lower earnings limit that applies to National Insurance contributions (below which employees are not entitled to SMP, SPP, SAP, SSPP and SSP) is remaining at £123.
